We know about her not much, some information is even contradictory, we know for sure that she was the wife of the first Polish Lord of Mieszko and her person contributed to the emergence of the Polish state and the foundation of national culture that continues to this day.
Dobrava was the daughter of the Czech ruler Boleslaw Severe, it is supposed that she knew Latin and could read. The chief of Poles did not have such skills. Dobrava could have had a great impact on the Christianization of the country, its cohesion and new cultural customs. She died in 977, we don’t know where she was buried.

Dobrava, alongside living, introduced Poland to the Catholic community, and the child from this artificial marriage gave Poland the first king and the Piast dynasty. Looking at the history of Poland, no other woman of Polish power had the status of Dobrava. Poland and Czech in the Middle Ages were closely related. Poles from neighboring nationalities like Slovaks and Czechs the most. (Brux)
