You may be surprised, but in Poland you can still see the iconography of the ban on photography in some places. It is so bizarre that it dates back to the times of deep communism. In the times of the government serving Moscow, all objects of a strategic nature, i.e. workplaces, railway stations, some universities, offices and museums, were covered with photography prohibition signs. The authorities explained this by the fact that the invasion of Poland should be hindered by the Western imperialists. As we know today, no one was interested in the invasion of Poland, but rather it was about justifying and instilling in common people the need for the presence of the Soviet army in Poland and hiding Polish poverty and common mess from Western journalists.
After the collapse of the Soviet absurdity, the ban photography signs began to disappear, civil freedom was born. However, recently they reappear in many shopping center and companies.

Why is photography prohibited in shopping malls? I can’t understand this, especially when everyone on their phones photographs the products offered and their price lists. However, the ban on shooting in companies has an interesting justification and very close to what Moscow once mandated.
The ban on photography appeared in the Polish Law on BHP Health and Safety at Work. I asked the OSH employee why this sign is included in the health and safety regulations? In response, I was informed that this was about the protection of trade secrets. What does this have to do with employee safety? Nothing.
That provision concerns the possibility of using the means of legal repression (intimidation) to hide the real situation in companies operating in Poland. Before I explain this, I will refer to the marketing activity of companies that usually boast about their technology in order to attract customers or investors. There are not too many scientific secrets here, because in order for technology to develop, it must be provided with funds (money) from the outside. There are not too many scientific secrets here, because in order for technology to develop, it must be provided with funds (money) from the outside. So where did the idea of the authorities suddenly go to ban shooting or the need for secrecy?
It’s very simple, it’s about hiding lies. Where there are no shooting ban placards, there is no technology that the company boasts about in its offer. This is a lie that you have to hide. It also hides the number of people employed or the conditions in which they work. It hides equipment and production lines that are used though in offices reported as closed. The investments made from EU funds that have not been purchased in accordance with the grant application submitted shall be kept secret. As we can see, there are many reasons why a law has been set up giving companies the right to demand a ban on shooting, that is, the collection of incriminating evidence. The growing trend on the ban photography is symbol of the declining Polish economy. (Brux)
