It is said that this is the largest collection of rupees in central Poland. The fairly in Spala town is held once a month and is usually Sunday. The town of Spala is associated more with the sports center, where the international Indoor Games are held, than with the fair place. Where did the idea for a fair of antiques and folk art in such a place? I tried to find out from the organizer, but this Polish custom disregarded my inquiries sent by e-mail. I decided to see in person what this fair looks like?

There was a terrible heat, and on the open glade at the confluence of two streets spread its expositions almost a hundred exhibitors from all over Poland. They were mostly collectors-traders, and included several recircagents and sellers of contemporary applied art.

A crowd of visitors besuffd afterwards tangled inertia formed alleys, many of them wore protective masks for fear that some viral Gin did not jump out of them from the antique bottle. Among the visitors I heard several foreign languages which testify to the European coverage of the event.

The fair outside the exhibition did not represent any unique characteristics, there was no organiser on site but a team charging the exhibitors, the inforamation luminaire practically did not exist, there was no suitable parking and cars parked along the street blocked natural traffic. Right next to the field where the fair is organized is a Catholic church, where at the same time masses and services were held, which were publicized by loudspeakers.

The antiques fair in Spala vilage is a marketing fornomen that should not logically be successful, however, it has been continuously taking place for several years and is gradually gaining popularity. This is an example of how small towns can be promoted in a cheap and easy way, and everything is due to the small involvement of organizers and local authorities. (Brux)
