Blue Source

These strange water drops have become quite a tourist attraction. The unique phenomenon was called “Blue Source”, which have become part of the nature reserve near the city of Tomaszow Mazowiecki and the Pilica River.

Blue Source

Many people wonder what is this colorful liniment that comes out from under the ground? Is it some mineral? None of these things, it is ordinary sand carried from the bottom with the water, it is still fresh so it does not clog. The sand is white, but when viewed at an angle through the water layer, it is a turquoise shade. Hence their not very precise and colloquial name, but quite accurate because it attracts attention. It is extraordinary that in the reserve you can admire the purity of the water, which is rare in natural reservoirs in Poland.

There was an accident in the history of the sources when his pulse stopped beating. This was due to the use of water resources for urban applications and the excavation of a nearby well. Fortunately, economic considerations gave way to the desire to preserve this phenomenon as a natural monument. The well was closed and the heart of the spring began to beat again. It is no longer as intense as before the heart attack, but the phenomenon still arouses considerable interest among visitors. Only here many people realize where natural water comes from. (Brux)
