Old-time journalists tried to convince me that only wise people collect and monitor information. I watched them take a stack of paper newspapers every morning and read them. It seemed as if this activity would take many hours, but their eye efficiently caught only what was most important to them. They called it the press room, which was a ceremonial everyday life treated with due respect.

Today it is much more comfortable and, most importantly, it costs us nothing in its basic form. The RSS technology and subscription to texts published on many websites help us in this. Facebook communicator based its phenomenon on this, with the difference that it is not an independent platform, but has a club specificity and there is no substantive content there due to account size limitations and censorship.

It is completely different with websites in the blog structure. They are independent entities even if the content is embedded on the free WordPress.com platform. But how to take advantage of the benefits of the involvement of people in the world who publish texts on the Internet independently? After all, browsing websites takes a huge amount of time? And this is where the subscription technique comes in handy, where we don’t visit any pages and have access to the current publications of their authors.

We need software called an RSS feed reader. There are many such programs, which work in different ways. What I like the most is the free Russian Quite RSS for Android. Thanks to this program, on my 7” tablet I can monitor the publication of more than half a thousand pages without going to websites. I download publications when I have Internet access, and then I only view their content off-line. It’s the best newspaper in the world in my pocket.

To be able to monitor a publication from a specific website, you need to add an RSS feed of this website to our program – RSS feed reader. Each properly made website with a periodic publication module has an RSS feed for this purpose. This is usually a page URL link ended with the word /feed.

The only problem that remains is reaching authors who write and publish valuable content. Collecting access to such authors (RSS website addresses) is an activity that repays with a unique reading not available to many average people. (Brux)
