Survivors Park in Lodz

This is a magical place in your symbolism because it commemorates unique human features that we will not be in an average man. The park is located in the northern part of the city of Lodz (boat is its meaning) on the Lodka river that comes to the tumor today. The park is not too big and it is not very charming. It stands out with a dumped 10-meter mound on whose top one tree is growing and a steel monument sitting on the bench of Jan Karski.

I will return to Jan Karski, and now I want to remind you that in the city of Lodz during the Second World War, there was a ghetto for Jews. Ghetto is an isolated part of the city, which was a prison. Here, the Germans under the pretext of purity of his own race being their delivently implemented the policy of mass slavery and plunder of property belonging to Jews. Everyone who was Jewish origin was to hit the ghetto. There were 233 thousand people in the Gettli in Lodz, which constituted 35% of the inhabitants of the entire city. Who fled from the ghetto was immediately killed by Germans. Poles got to the occupation authorities, the command to submit a donors who is a Jew. Who hid the Jews before arrest, he was punished by death.

Poles have a conformist mentality and easily subordinate to every totalitarian authority of ideological cohesion. To this day, they are in love with German culture and the Polish government and Polish naves are copying everything they do. The Germans always had a hostility to Poles, seems that they have always been running with the Polish war, and during the occupation during the Second World War, Poles have just loved to report on each other. This is today, still a human dignity in Poland must give way to the consecutive mass of fanatism. That is why Germany during the Second World War had a facilitated task, it was enough for Poles press the throżba and the ghetto from day to day swelled from Jews. It may also because none of the Poles has yet realized that the ghetto created will finally be liquidated, and every adult prisoner or a child in an industrial way will be murdered.

Life in Poland occupied by Germans, with intimidated Poles it was not easy. However, the Poles occurred, who were afraid of their own safety and strict regulations, fought for human dignity and hid the Jews before arrest. Thanks to such Poles, Jews kept life and could survive until the end of the war. To give them a tribute to the park was built. A very unusual park, on the opposite side of the mound I have already mentioned, there is a monument in the shape of a six-dimensional star and its walls are covered with the memories and surname of the person who helped protect the life of Jews. These are stone plaques with the names of real heroes who expose their lives to save their lives to others. I tried to get information how many tiles with names are, but the institution responsible for the substantive administration of the Park ignored my query. The other source reports that there are 7,000 names and probably applies to the inhabitants of all of Poland.

A monument with a six-member star is rolling with a mound which is on the opposite side of the park. The connecting element is a pavement, which on one side has a labeled tablet with the names of Jews from Lodz, which managed to survive the war thanks to Poles. In total, there are 642 tablets with names.

As in every park and trees grow in this park but many of them are situated by people who survived the war and cruelty of the Germans thanks to the help of a few, courageous Poles. On the dome, as I mentioned before, there is a monument to Jan Karski. During the Second World War, Karski was a Polish diplomat, he acted in resistance and as an eyewitness of German mass executions on the Jews made efforts in British authorities in Churchill and the American authority Roosevelt’s condemnation of this aggression. But the effects did not refer as well as gathering information about the number of tablets with names. Now, Jan Karski frozen in the monument, with a face returned towards the park, maybe she wonders that if not for the conformist attitude of a human instead of a small park, there was a vibrant forest here.

However, the largest object in the park is the building called the Center of Dialog name Marek Edelman. Of course, the impressive building was closed and sincerely say too much I do not know what full of publicity. (Brux)
