The Most Common Polish Names

Giving names for newborn children has always been a problem. Of course, there are a vacuum parents that punish their children with the originality of the name, whose child may later be ashamed. ortunately, most parents are guided by the popularity of names at a given time. The media of creating images of popular people decide about the popularity of names. It rarely happens that the name for a child has a relationship with some traditions in a family or Polish historical tradition.

Below is a table that shows the most frequently occurring names in Poland. At the top, the names are Maria (Female) and Jan (Male). At the moment, such names are no longer suited, they belong to the older generation of people born after the Second World War. Both names refer to characters from Catholic culture. Biblical Maria was the Mother of Jesus Christ. In Poland Mary’s cult is the strongest in the world. Jan (John) is a symbol of Christianity and refer to the person of Jan the Baptist, who was inoculated by Jesus Christ. These names indicate Catholic origin. I really like Jan and Ewa names because they only consist of three letters. Currently, parents give children names from celebrities, popular actors or stage artists and are often not the names of Polish origin. (Brux)
