From April begins the best time to buy winter tires. Just not before winter but after it’s over. Of course, in this process I mean those buyers who do not need to convince what is most important in the car, besides the engine – of course. Tires, we buy after the season, because the trade is trying to get rid of seasonal goods. Get rid of not always pushing the seller’s client, although they constitute over 70% of products on the market, but the rest are valuable products that are worth taking into account.
According to the principle of Pareto, 30% of products earns to the remainder of products occurring in the commercial offer. Similarly in industry and what interesting is low-budget production supplies the production of expensive high-quality products. Hence every manufacturer (here the exception will not continue) is forced to produce a series of products from cheaper raw materials (under a different name or brand) and the successful force of the purchasing power is decided on the success of their sale, which can be up to 1/4 of the cost of the product itself. I would like to emphasize that this is not entirely a global manipulation, this is a terrifying vision to meet the needs of a slaughtering society in the world embedded in needed consumption.
Dygressive I wanted to describe a certain phenomenon that I saw in trade on the example of tire sellers in the city I live. A dozen or so distributors of car tires in Lodz city, I asked the question about customer behaviors. What tires are buying customers and why?
I got from two, three answers, type: What tires do I want to buy? Nobody has evolved to boast of their sales results and convince me to your store. I will say honestly, the contact was very discouraging. I think I picked up another sale school. But does this mean that there are no good sellers?
Well, not necessarily. Once the seller was a symbol of authority, a question was guided by a request to get encyclopedic knowledge. This competence was a force building trust and finalizing sales.
Today it is different. There are no sellers anymore, there are only feeders who deliver goods that customer wishes. And this happens because the contemporary customer armed with internet knowledge or “inflated” ad exactly knows what he wants. It’s impossible to convince him.
Can these circumstances be assumed that customers consciously buy traded products? I decided to check out and examine how winter tires buy and use drivers in Poland. (This study is archival from 2014).
Once again with notes, I went through the parking lots of my city, this time, making testing the occurrence of tire brands. I wrote the brand and model from tires. I did so many squats how much some of the whole life (I felt only on the second day). The people stared at me suspiciously, whom this guy hides behind these cars? Of course, it did not happen without a meeting of people with coinned ego, because what right I look at their cars? Such consumer research in Poland is an incredible rarity and must arouse suspicion. I suppose Nobody tried in my city of me – because who would you like?

From my research, it appears that the queen of winter tires in my city is Debica with the FRIGO model, which can be approx. 10% of all acquired tires. It is a Polish tire, and its most popular Frigo 2 model costs approx. 175 PLN (195/65 R15) [ 45 USD]. Ten percent is a lot at such a large occurrence of brands and models. In total, Debica has the largest market share because as many as 17% of their products.

A French Kleberg with the Kristalp HP model was just behind Debica. This tire, like Debica, costs approx. PLN 180 (195/65 R15) [47 USD] and accounts for 9% of the local market. After the tread characteristics can be deduced that the French designed her for whites. Suitable in snowy mountain roads. But are wet surfaces on a softened salt? The third in the popular winter tire with a 6% share in the Lodz market, the German Fulda with the Kristall Motero model was more often presented in a model 2 than 3, at a price of PLN 195 (195/65 R15) [50 USD].


We see that Model 2 is a typical snow tire, model 3 is already optimized on a blinking mud.
During the tests of tires, which occur in passenger cars, because I studied, I counted over 60 different models. Among them there were several models of summer tires, because the drivers have already begun changing the winter, and several models of multi-season tires. I was surprised by various unknown brands whose manufacturer could not be determined even on the internet. I was surprised by the low position of my favorite (below 1%), the tire I think is one of the better on the market. Although it’s even right, because it is not a good tire for snow, more on a wet surface (such a british winter).
And as in politics, you are mostly set out often not much, we have a similar situation in our research. After the sculpture of the tread developed, even from the 1970s, we see that this is a tire, the simplest of possible products. An ordinary trailer tire. Price in relation to technologically advanced models, nightmarily high, maybe that’s so happy to be sold, because on this commodity, you can earn a lot of margin. By adding 20 PLN (ie +80 PLN to the completion / at the cheapest size), we can buy in my opinion a very good tire Fuldy Kristall Montero Model 3. I deliberately attached photos of both models (new 3 and previous 2) to show how Fulda appreciated Good Year with his “iodine” tread and quickly introduced a similar solution to his own new model. This proves that the manufacturer is not indifferent to search for the best properties of their products and this manifestation is worth taking into account.

Many people do not agree with me, but I express the view that it is better to buy tires used from the top shelf in an acceptable state than new, the cheapest. I skip the technology of tread sculpture, but even materials and quality of the raw material used in more expensive tires shows better properties after a few seasons than one-season tire bought in a cost-effective price. Therefore, it is worth taking advantage of the post-season period to capture the best offer for cheap, high-quality and exceptional products on the market. (Brux)
