During the Pleistocene (Ice Age 2.6 million – 11.7 thousand), the glacier reached the borders on the southern Poland present, creating a Carpathian mountain range. It was 440,000 years ago. About the strength of this unimaginable phenomenon lasting about 2.5 million years They provide erratic boulders like this abandoned by the glacier near Kalisz city. He was given the name of The Boulder of St. Jadwiga.

It is a fragment of the rock, which as assumes, was taken from Scandinavia. The rock was repeatedly rotated through the ice and transformed into a gigantic pebble with smooth edges. Its circuit is 22 meters, a length of 8,5 meters, a 6,5 meter width, height above the ground 3,5 meters plus 2 meters recessed in the ground. It is about the sixth largest boulder in Poland. Overhead boulders in Poland are considered to be protected nature monuments that are a testimony to the Pleistocene era.

Not everyone knows about it, and maybe it is worth informing that the genesis of the Pleistocene were changes in the position of the Earth. These were the following changes in the shape of orbit, axis of inclination and axis of the position of the Earth. The glacier repeatedly went down the planet and stepped back. The withdrawal of the glacier is called the interglacial period
where average temperatures were much higher than in the current greenhouse effect. Probably our the Earth is in the next intermediate process and hence the climate is gradually warming up. (Brux)
