They are gather on the street, usually at 11:00 and they are moving together in the city. The group leads two guides to change telling interesting stories hidden in tenement houses, streets, monuments and commemorative boards of the city. Such trips last about two and a half hours, and each of them is devoted to another theme.

Everything takes place on weekends, and thanks to co-financing from the city budget, participants in trips is free. Guides who have not received money (subsidies) from the city authorities organize trips for a fee. They cost up to 10 to 25 PLN (max 5 USD).

This is an excellent way to spend the first part of the day on Saturday and Sunday. On tours you can hear a lot of interesting stories about the city in which lives, and the bigger and older city, these stories are more. You can also plan participation in free trips in other cities just reach and not be late for start. They last throughout the warmer season in Poland from March to October.

The problem is that it is difficult to get information about organized trips. Your Brux gave the tourist information centers in various major Polish cities and the promotion departments created on urban offices for locally organized events. The fact that hardly anyone answers such a question is already in Polish mentality, finally employees of these offices receive salaries from taxpayers for the presence at work, but no one has indicated the information about the organizers of local trips. It looks like the guides of free trips were competition for deficit museums and exhibitions that are not visited because tickets are expensive and inside boring.

However, interest in tours is so large that they usually participate in them from 30 to 70 people depending on the topics and weather conditions.

The overriding function of trips is not only education, but above all a recreational form of spending free time. Most tour participants are elder people. Their presence is a strong need to break the emptiness of a lonely life. This motivation to get out of the house, meet other people to listen to what they have to say, to talk to them if you can break the fear of the other person. Free city tours have a very important custom function, because a man has such a need, he is looking for a place in time and space. If he can not create it himself, you have to help him. And yet quite a long time ago, collective practices were forbidden by the Polish government for the good of humanity. True, that’s stupid?
