He seems to be a completely uninteresting man, colorless, ordinary, but it’s just appearances. His passion is a weapon, but not such an ordinary weapon that gives a sense of advantage, But a weapon with a soul. Marcin collect knowledge about gunpowder weapon, he knows almost everything about her, about her structural element. He also has a few replicas of historic weapons, nurtures her and most importantly also shoots from it.
For the first time he met with a weapon being a boy at school. It was a sports weapon. He shot from it under the supervision of a teacher on classes in the shooting range. Marcin did not choose sportsman road but he stored memories to make many years later return to these impressions in a mature form.
Marcin is not limited only to collector’s practices. A few years after the interest in black-point weapons He began to give advice to other colleagues and lovers of practical use of historical replicas as small arms. Encouraged to activate training in this respect for people which are interested in the story of firearms, they are going to buy some replicas to their own collection And for curiosity, at least once with such a replica fire to feel the climate of times in which this weapon was used. As it turns out, many collectors are not enough to look at their collections, they want to revive this weapon in their hands.
To shoot a replica of historical weapons, you do not need to have relevant permits in Poland as in the case of central weapons, that is, which is commonly used to kill. Contemporary pistols are very easy to use and serve one purpose. There is no such lofty cult around it as with black powder weapons. To fire the replica, you must patiently go through the ceremony of preparing the weapon and loading it with a bullet. It really requires knowledge and above all patience. This is a passion for ceremonial. Taking a shot is also a challenge, not to mention how difficult it is to hit a distant target with such a weapon.
I participated as a guest in one of the training courses on black powder weapons conducted by Marcin and his friend Piotr. The training consisted of four elements, from the principles of safeguard with weapons, knowledge about elements and maintenance of weapons, the method of preparing a load and shooting on the shooting range. The classes were attended by people who have their own replica of a weapon and would like to fire it for the first time, and this requires consultation with an experienced person. There were also people who want to buy a replica of weapons but lack knowledge that can help them in making the right decision. There were also collectors of impressions who have never shot such a weapon.
Marcin turned out to be a great teacher, although there is no such instructor status for many is perceived as an experienced authority. There was no question that he did not know the answer including information where and what can you buy and for how much? After a long-hour theory and tedious preparations of weapons, we all excited about the shooting range. There’s another instructions and safety rules. Finally, participants in the support of experienced colleagues of instructors they tarted shooting at the prepared targets. There was a roar in the air and the smell of burning gunpowder. Pistols and rifles were fired.
I also shot.
Marcin ran from one shooting position to another, helping shooters learn to hold their weapons correctly while firing a shot and intervening in the case of a weapon that refused to obey without firing a shot, which sometimes happens with a poorly prepared weapon. After firing the stockpiles with bullets, the weapon was secured and we headed towards the shields to evaluate the effectiveness of the shots fired. Some people became unsatisfied, others analyzed their mistakes and the need for improvement. Marcin offered his further help in developing his interests. Such an ordinary person was able to evoke an unusual feeling with ordinary things. It is a pity that I know so few such people. (Brux)
