In the plebiscite I carried out for the most beautiful wild flower in Poland, a field poppy (Papaver Rhoeas). In fact, it is really beautiful and it owes it to its intensively red color, which distinguishes it from many surrounding plants.
The Poppy can be multiyear or only oneseason. Ther grow almost everywhere where a lot of sunny light falls. The poppy seeds are also grown in various varieties and colors. There are over 100 these varieties. Poppy are starting to bloom in May. Full transmission success in August.
For the need for the food industry, low morphine poppy is grown, we will recognize them in blue or white color. For the need for the pharmaceutical industry high morphine poppy are grown which contain opium. And such cultivation should have a concession (permit) because in Poland the cultivation of high morphine poppy varieties is prohibited. This also applies to flowers that have spontaneously seeded in the garden. The law in Poland threaten with consequences, but no one knows how such a high morphine poppy looks. For many people it is simply a nice flower and we can meet it even in church gardens. The Church is safe for it but an ordinary person with Polish low ethical courts entertaining human misfortune can have serious problems.
The most popular product made of poppy seeds is a cake called poppy seed cake. This is a cult delicacy of Poles and is necessary during state and private events. This tradition is very old and nobody knows where it comes from. The oldest descriptions of the poppy seed cake concern the practices of court cuisine so it can be an import tradition. (Brux)
